Introducing the Maddie Clutch

This is my first pattern for 2016.  I’m really excited about this one and hope you love it too.  Inspired by my love of clutches and purse frames I wanted to create something a little different.  You can find the pattern here.

Designed for a confident beginner and only uses 2 fat quarters, some fusible fleece and a purse frame.  I’d like to say a massive thank you to my wonderful testing team for turning around such stunning clutches in a short time frame.

Alisha from Yellow Birdcage whipped this Maddie up super quickly and what a lovely job she did.  Look at that fussy cutting.

Rachael from Sew Today Clean Tomorrow has created a rather pretty Maddie Clutch that would definitely make a cute party bag.  You can see more of Rachael’s sewing here.

Lynne took an elegant approach with her Maddie.  The perfect accessory to any outfit.  You can see more of Lynne’s bags at Bags by Lynwam and here.

I love Kate’s choice of Alison Glass fabric here, it’s simply stunning and works perfectly for the Maddie Clutch.  Date night bag right here 🙂

Stephani created this funky Maddie Clutch and I think it looks fabulous.

And as it’s my birthday today and my sons on the 29th I’m releasing it at a discounted price until the end of February!  You can find the Maddie Clutch pattern on Craftsy hereand if you are after purse frames the lovely Kylie from Handbag Hardware Oz has them in stock.

I can’t wait to see lots of Maddie Clutches out there!

Enjoy,

The Emma Clutch Tote

I am so excited to share with you my very first bag pattern release!

It’s been a long time in the making but it is finally ready….

Introducing The Emma Clutch Tote

This gorgeous clutch was inspired on a shopping trip with my bag loving friend Emma.  This bag takes you from day to night with its versatility.  It also allows you to carry everything you need when you head out with your clutch as it is very roomy.

I’d like to thank my wonderful testers, I have appreciated all your comments and feedback.

How amazing is this fabric that Melisa has used and fussy cut for the front of her clutch

This was made by Amy using Terra Australis

Tanya upcycled a vintage sheet to create hers

Jane has stuck with her owls in this gorgeous print, love it

Emily has picked some amazing fabric for her clutch, isn’t it stunning!

If you would like to make this yourself, you can purchase the pattern here.  Feel free to join my patterns group on fb too, this is where upcoming patterns are announced first.

The Good Stuff 2013

Here’s some of the good stuff from 2013!

First of all our little monkey turned 1 and discovered his love of cake!  That’s my boy.

I joined in some swaps – a sweet pouch swap organised by Ros at Sew Delicious & a little pincushion swap organised by Lisa at Sweet Little Pretties

I finally made some time to sew something for me and I love it.  Its the Jamie Dress by Sis Boom.  I picked up this fabric from a Spotlight sale for $3 a metre, BARGAIN!

I tried out some new bags using Melly & Me’s patterns and loved the results

I also went to one of Nicole Mallalieu’s classes and learnt so much, even though I was a little star struck (she’s one of my favourite bag designers).  Totally loved it and worth every cent.  It was one on zippers, lots of zips in this tote so I thought I should keep it!

This year we added some clutches to our bag range in 3 different sizes.  (the 150mm frame using Nicole Mallalieu’s pattern, the others based on this)

I also put my hand to some quilting but only for me & family.  This is certainly more of a challenge than making a bag.

And not long before Christmas I did my first market for the year.  I hope to be back at Maribyrnong Makers Market next year.  It was a great day.

And the most exciting news was finding out we were pregnant again!

Happy New Years Eve,

The Christmas Countdown

Does anyone else get excited about Christmas?

I love it and am particularly excited this year as it is our first Christmas as a family and I can’t wait to enjoy it with our little boy Oscar.

I am trying to be more organised this year and have started stocking our hand-made shop with the Christmas range to be released on the 1st November.  Here’s a peek at our wine bottle bags.

There will also be some more bags too.
Only 62 days to go…
