So much has been happening that I thought I’d share some highlights of the week.
is running another charm swap and this time it’s Amy Butler, so I couldn’t say no. My fabric arrived super quick from the fabric garden
with a little sweet in the packaging. Tomorrow’s job is to cut this into charm squares.
And what do you do when you receive your charms? Cut them up further into tiny squares. Well that’s what I did with a few of the Bonnie & Camille charms and so far it looks like this.
It’s only 6×12″, I’m not totally crazy! This is going to become a clutch and I hope it turns out as well as I imagined it. Loving it so far.
Today we spent the morning with Dannii from Kipindi
. She did an amazing job of capturing Oscar who would not stay still. He just wanted to run in the park. Here’s a peek.
Can’t wait to see the rest!
I missed Wednesday Wip (I’m only a day late) but I just had to share as I am sooooo excited about the quilt I am working on and this one’s for ME!
This will be the third quilt I’ve made and I’m kinda enjoying this whole quilting thing. I still have so much to learn and there are some amazing designs out there I would love to try.
This is the quilt I made for Oscar and it took me over a year so I decided to keep it fairly simple this time around. I am hoping to finish it as part of the Kate Spain charm alongthat Ms Midge has organised and I’ve got just over a week to do so.
Here’s a peek
Wow, the days have turned into a couple of weeks since I was last here
I have been working on something exciting. This gorgeous Amy Butler fabric is a sneaky peek from a new clutch bag I’ve been designing. It’s coming along nicely and I can’t wait to show you it completed.
Another thing in the pipeline is something pretty using all these Kate Spain charm squares. I have something small in mind to join in with the Kate Spain charm alongbeing run by Ms Midge as well as a bigger quilt project but I’m not sure I can pull that off in 4 weeks. There are awesome prizes up for grabs so if you have some Kate Spain fabric you can join in too.

Last week saw me getting my craft on. There was some baking, a bit of sewing for the boys and cooking up a yummy risotto. It’s starting to become a bit of a Sunday ritual to hide out in the sewing room and last Sunday was no exception. This time making something for me!
This month in the Lil Pip Challenge
is to make the Commuter Cowl and I am determined not to be late this month. With pattern printed and pretty pink fabric chosen, I was ready to cut and sew. This one is very close to completion, it just requires a little hand stitching which is not my favourite things to do.
Next on my sewing list is a bag! This one is from Nicole Mallalieu’s new book The Better Bag Maker. I’m currently in the process of slashing and opening the pattern.
Linking up with Little White Dove WIP Wednesday, you can too.
What craft have you tried this week?
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks in our house with my brothers wedding on the Gold Coast followed by a busy Mother’s Day. We also caught up with some friends in Brisbane while we were up there for the weekend. I’m now back into the swing of things and I’m crafting more and hoping to share here more regularly. So here’s what has been happening in my sewing room this week.
First up I’m sewing along with the Lil Pip Challenge
making the I heart Bowling set. I’m all cut and ready to sew.
I’ve also been working on a couple of projects I’ll be sharing over at And Sew We Craft
. It’s baby month and these have been on my to do list for far too long, tick, tick. Here’s a sneaky peek.
And lastly, this week I signed up to a Kate Spain Aussie Charm Swap being organised by Ms Midge
. I know I’m only a beginner when it comes to quilting but I love Kate Spain fabrics and am pretty excited about receiving my envelope of pretty fabrics.
